NEOS – The New Austria and Liberal Forum is a liberal party in Austria that was founded in 2012. It stands for freedom, progress, and justice, emphasizing topics such as transparency, education, entrepreneurship, and climate protection. In the 2024 national elections, NEOS achieved about 9% of the votes and is represented in several state parliaments as well as in the National Council. The party is pro-European and a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
NEOS was founded in October 2012 as NEOS – The New Austria and merged with the Liberal Forum in January 2014. In the 2013 national elections, the party entered the National Council for the first time with 5% of the votes. In the following years, NEOS was able to expand its presence and is now represented in several state parliaments.
As a liberal party, NEOS stands for freedom, progress, and justice. The focuses are on transparency in politics, strong educational policies, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and committed climate protection. NEOS advocates for sustainable environmental policies and calls for reforms in various areas to make Austria future-proof.
In the 2024 national elections, NEOS achieved about 9% of the votes and was thus able to consolidate its position in the Austrian parliament. The party is represented in several state parliaments and actively participates in political discussions at the national and European levels.
