Parties in the parliament

Since 2018 6 parties are present in the Bavarian state parliament. CSU and Freie Wähler form the government, AfD, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, FDP and SPD form the opposition. To enter the Bavarian state parliament, parties must achieve at least 5% of the valid votes. In addition, candidates who achieve a direct mandate in a constituency of the Bavarian state parliament election also enter the state parliament.
