DLF advocates for withdrawal from NATO's integrated command and a radical renegotiation of EU treaties, aiming for a Europe of nation-states. Its target audience primarily includes value-conservative citizens, sovereignists, and the working middle class who seek to combine criticism of globalization with a focus on regulatory policy. Key priorities also include a restrictive migration policy, the promotion of French businesses, and strengthening internal security and public services.

Role in the Political System
Strategically, DLF positions itself as the "independent voice" on the right of the political spectrum, aiming to bridge the gap between moderate conservatives and national-populist forces. It often acts as a corrective against European federalism, while formally maintaining distance from extremist revolutionary fantasies by explicitly invoking the institutions of the Fifth Republic.
