The foundation of Unity is rooted in a liberal-conservative worldview that sees Georgia as an inseparable part of the European community of values. Its ideology is characterized by a strong drive for national sovereignty against Russian influence and a desire to return to the reformist path of the post-Rose Revolution era. At its core is the vision of a modern, Western-oriented state that champions the rule of law and individual freedoms against authoritarian tendencies.
Unity's agenda is unequivocally focused on EU accession and NATO integration, viewing them as the cornerstones of security and prosperity for Georgia. Economically, the alliance advocates for deregulation and the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance Georgia's appeal to foreign investors. Unity primarily targets urban populations, young voters, and pro-European civil society. A central pillar of its platform is judicial reform, aimed at curbing political interference in state institutions.
Within the Georgian party system, Unity serves as the leading opposition force, offering a distinct systemic alternative to the incumbent power. Strategically, the alliance focuses on consolidating fragmented pro-Western forces to build a critical mass against the perceived erosion of democracy. Its relationship with state institutions is marked by profound distrust.
