MeRA25: Data Analysis, Current Polls, and Policy Positions

The foundation of MeRA25 is built upon "Realistic Disobedience." The party views the current financial system as inherently unstable and unjust. Its worldview is rooted in the conviction that national sovereignty and social justice in Europe can only be achieved through a radical transformation of EU institutions. MeRA25 strictly rejects the logic of austerity and sees the state as a central actor that must steer the economy in the interest of the common good to break the power of oligarchies and uncontrolled markets.

MeRA25's agenda focuses on alleviating household debt, nationalizing strategic infrastructure, and significantly expanding the welfare state. The party champions a "Green New Deal" that couples ecological transformation with radical redistribution. Its target audience includes precariously employed individuals, disillusioned leftists, and young activists who have lost faith in traditional social democracy. The party also advocates for a universal basic income and direct democratic participation of citizens in political decision-making processes.

Strategically, MeRA25 positions itself as an anti-establishment force, utilizing the Greek Parliament and European institutions as platforms for resistance. It operates as part of the DiEM25 movement and aims for transnational networking, as it considers national solo efforts to be of limited effectiveness. Its relationship with the rule of law is characterized by a demand for radical transparency, while it criticizes the existing architecture of the Eurozone as undemocratic and, if necessary, advocates for deliberate rule-breaking to provoke reforms.
