NIKI's foundation rests on the "trinity" of homeland, religion, and family. The party perceives modern Greece as facing an identity crisis and calls for a return to the values of the Orthodox Church and its Byzantine heritage. Its conception of humanity is deeply religious: the state's role is not merely to administer but to safeguard the moral integrity of the populace. NIKI rejects Western-style liberal secularism, viewing the Church as the true core of national sovereignty.
NIKI's agenda is strictly protectionist and socially restrictive. The party actively opposes abortion, same-sex marriage, and modern educational reforms, which it views as the "erosion of the family unit." In terms of migration policy, NIKI advocates for closed borders to preserve cultural homogeneity. Its target audience includes disillusioned conservative voters, religious fundamentalists, and those in rural areas who resist social change. Economically, the party promotes self-sufficiency and policies that encourage large families.
Strategically, NIKI operates as a moral corrective force within the parliamentary system. It leverages democratic institutions to oppose the "liberal zeitgeist" but maintains a skeptical stance towards the rule of law when its statutes conflict with ecclesiastical dogmas. Internationally, the party is critical of the EU and frequently seeks closer ties with other Orthodox-influenced entities. Its role is that of a system-critical niche party, exerting pressure on the broader conservative spectrum.
