The foundation of the LVŽS is a deeply rooted traditionalism, which views rural life as the nation's moral anchor. The party espouses a paternalistic view of the state, where the community takes precedence over radical individualism. Its "green" ideology is less cosmopolitan-progressive and more conservative: nature is protected as a national heritage. Humanity and the state are understood as a single entity, bound together by Christian values and cultural identity.
The agenda focuses on social justice through state intervention and the promotion of rural areas. The LVŽS advocates for agricultural subsidies, strict alcohol prevention, and the preservation of traditional family structures. Its policies primarily target the population outside major cities, farmers, and socially disadvantaged groups. In economic matters, it often adopts protectionist stances, while in social policy, it opposes the legal recognition of same-sex partnerships.
In Lithuania's political system, the LVŽS assumes the role of a centrist to right-conservative systemic alternative. It often positions itself as a counterweight to urban elites and liberal forces. Strategically, it leverages its strong base in rural areas to claim governmental responsibility, oscillating between pragmatic policy-making and populist appeals to national sovereignty. Its relationship with the rule of law is characterized by a strong majoritarian will, which sometimes subordinates institutions to political objectives.
