The PMM's foundation is built upon an optimistic, rationalist view of humanity. It perceives the state not as a paternalistic authority, but as an efficient service provider. Its ideology is characterized by 'technocratic liberalism,' defining progress through innovation, the rule of law, and overcoming post-Soviet structures. For the PMM, national identity is inextricably linked to European values and belonging to the Western cultural sphere, while advocating for a strict separation of church and state.
The PMM's agenda targets the young, urban demographic, entrepreneurs, and the diaspora. Key demands include comprehensive digitalization of public administration (e-governance), economic deregulation, and substantial investment in the education sector. The party advocates for uncompromising judicial reform to attract foreign direct investment. A central point of contention, however, is the social question: while the PMM relies on market mechanisms, critics remain skeptical whether this approach adequately addresses the needs of the rural, often impoverished population.
Strategically, the PMM acts as a catalyst for institutional change. It positions itself as critical of entrenched networks and systemic inertia, yet simultaneously relies unconditionally on the pillars of liberal democracy. Its role within the political system is that of a modernization vanguard, increasing pressure on traditional elites. It skillfully leverages international partnerships to implement its reform agenda against domestic political resistance and to make integration into European structures irreversible.
