The party's worldview is rooted in a strong national consciousness and the defense of Slovenian identity against supranational influences. It perceives the state as the guardian of tradition and family. Its understanding of humanity is characterized by individual responsibility, reflected in calls for a lean state and the protection of private property. The party views the nation as a community of shared destiny, whose cultural heritage must be defended against perceived liberal arbitrariness.
The party's agenda focuses on a strict law-and-order policy and combating corruption within established elites. Economically, it advocates for tax cuts and deregulation to strengthen entrepreneurship. Its target audience includes value-conservative citizens in rural areas, as well as self-employed individuals and patriots seeking a counterpoint to the left-liberal mainstream. On migration, it champions closed borders and emphasizes the priority of its own citizens' security.
Strategically, the party often acts as a challenger to the established institutional framework, which it criticizes as needing reform and being partly ideologically compromised. It employs direct, often confrontational rhetoric to leverage the country's polarization for its own mobilization. While officially committed to the rule of law, it demands profound reforms in the judiciary and media sector to achieve, in its own words, true plurality and liberation from post-socialist structures.
