The foundation of Compromís lies in the synthesis of modern progressive liberalism, environmentalism, and the protection of regional identity. The party views the state as a service provider that must actively dismantle social inequalities. Its humanistic vision is shaped by individual freedom in harmony with collective responsibility for nature. In contrast to radical separatism, Compromís advocates for cooperative federalism within Spain to safeguard Valencia's cultural and linguistic distinctiveness while promoting the common good.
The agenda focuses on strengthening the welfare state, increasing public investment in education and healthcare, and pursuing an ambitious energy transition. The party advocates for more equitable funding for regions from the central government to bolster local infrastructures. Its primary target groups include young urban populations, precariously employed individuals, and citizens with a strong awareness of regional culture. Compromís positions itself as the "voice of the grassroots," fighting against corruption and for transparency in public administration, while simultaneously supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through sustainable economic development.
Within the Spanish political system, Compromís acts as a strategic kingmaker, particularly in the formation of left-leaning majorities at the national level. It serves as a pragmatic bridge-builder between purely regional interests and broader Spanish responsibility. Despite its role as a critic of the established system, it strictly upholds respect for democratic institutions and the rule of law. Its strategy aims to decentralize political decision-making and challenge the dominance of the major national parties through deep local roots and participatory democracy.
