The YRP's foundation is rooted in the ideology of the 'National Vision' (Milli Görüş). Its worldview is deeply embedded in Islamic values, striving for a moral rejuvenation of society. The party views the state and nation as entities that must emancipate themselves from Western cultural dominance. Justice, for the YRP, is defined not by secular legal norms but by religious ethics. It advocates for a 'Just Order' (Adil Düzen) that opposes interest-based finance and the influence of global financial markets, while strongly emphasizing Turkey's sovereignty.
The YRP's agenda centers on protecting the traditional family structure, bolstering domestic production, and combating poverty. The party advocates for withdrawal from international agreements it perceives as threats to conservative values. Its primary target demographics include religious low-income earners, skilled tradespeople, and conservative voters seeking a return to Islamic-oriented social and economic policies. The party champions extensive industrialization and a foreign policy that prioritizes cooperation within the Islamic world while rejecting EU membership.
Strategically, the YRP acts as a value-conservative corrective and a challenger to established religious parties. It capitalizes on public dissatisfaction with economic crises to offer a morally 'purer' alternative. Its stance on the rule of law is characterized by a desire to reshape institutions according to religious guidelines. While operating within the democratic system, the party uses it as a platform to voice fundamental systemic criticism of Western-oriented secularism. Consequently, it often serves as a decisive factor within the right-wing political spectrum.
