The PolitPro Poll Trend is more than just a snapshot. We aggregate data from all relevant polling institutes into a weighted average for the Moldova election. Since the classic hypothetical election question ('Who would you vote for if an election were held next Sunday?') inherently fluctuates due to methodological variations, our poll trend offers a statistically robust data foundation. It smooths out short-term outliers and reveals the real political dynamics over time.
By combining multiple data sources, we minimize the risk of random statistical noise. Each survey is subject to a statistical margin of error (usually between 1.5% and 3%). Our Moldova poll check precisely indicates whether a party's gain represents a sustainable trend or merely falls within the statistical margin of error of a single institute.
The calculation follows a transparent mathematical model: Current polls are weighted more heavily than older data. Furthermore, the historical predictive accuracy of the institutes is factored into the calculation to account for methodological biases. The result is a valid trend line accurately reflecting Moldova's party system.
The PolitPro Score assesses polling reliability based on election accuracy and deviations from the overall trend. Significant outliers in party values lead to deductions, as they may indicate systematic over- or under-representation. The maximum score is 100.
While free elections exist, government oversight and the rule of law are limited.

The PolitPro Democracy Score evaluates various aspects of democratic quality based on data from the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project. This international research initiative is led by the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) and the University of Notre Dame (USA). Over 3,500 experts assess countries according to standardized scientific criteria. PolitPro aggregates and contextualizes this data to provide an understandable and comparable overview. The score ranges from 0 to 100.

The election is decided in a single round of voting.
Following elections, the Constitutional Court plays a pivotal role in confirming results and validating mandates. The newly elected Parliament must convene for its inaugural session within 30 days of election day. Should Parliament fail to elect a new Prime Minister within three months of a government's resignation or the first attempt to form a government, the President is constitutionally obliged to dissolve Parliament and call for snap elections. This mechanism acts as a safeguard against protracted political deadlocks in the country.
All Moldovan citizens aged 18 and above are eligible to vote. A crucial characteristic of the Moldovan electorate is the immense importance of the diaspora; hundreds of thousands of Moldovans living abroad participate heavily in elections, often tipping the scales towards pro-European majorities. Furthermore, as of 2024, postal voting procedures have been introduced for specific countries. Historically, voter turnout usually exceeds 50%, with a minimum participation of one-third of registered voters required for an election to be deemed valid. Regional disparities are often observed between the capital Chișinău and autonomous regions like Gagauzia.
