Next election: 2027
On April 8, 2022, the French will hold the presidential election. There are several candidates running for the high office.
The presidential election
For the twelfth time in the history of the Fifth French Republic, the President of the Republic is elected. If a second round of voting is necessary because none of the candidates and nominees can claim an absolute majority of votes, it will take place on April 24. The election shall be held directly by the people entitled to vote.

Incumbent Emmanuel Macron will run for president again.
